27095 Purpose Ability to machine, mill, and grind various types of metals. Primarily 1st shift schedule, could include 2nd, 3rd, split shifts, weekends, holidays, 12 hour shifts. Daily work activity is directed by the Group Leader and a Maintenance Machinist A. Reports directly to the department Manager.
Job Responsibilities \n - Performs all tasks under general supervision.
\n - Provides training and assistance to less experienced Machinists.
\n - Assumes ownership of work task and demonstrates initiative to get work completed.
\n - Creates and reworks machinery and equipment components according to requisition documentation, blueprints, or other drawings.
\n - Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature.
\n - Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, grinding, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials.
\n - Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
\n - Performs reworking and machining of new and spare production parts for departments.
\n - Repairs maintenance parts as needed.
\n - Verifies the accuracy of work by using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and various measuring instruments.
\n - Order and maintain project related material as required.
\n - Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed and repairs made.
\n - Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Managers, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish the desired result.
\n - Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
\n - Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices.
\n - Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.
\n - Review, understand, and follow all Company specifications and procedures, and regulatory rules and requirements that are associated with the performance of this job.

Basic Requirements \n - Must pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
\n - Must have a basic knowledge and experience reading mechanical drawings.
\n - Must have a basic knowledge and experience in proper machining and grinding techniques (Feed rates, sequencing, cutting speeds).
\n - Must have a basic knowledge and experience in setting up machine tools to produce precision parts.
\n - Must have a basic knowledge and experience in writing and modifying machine programs.
\n - Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates.
\n - Ability to use various measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
\n - Excellent attendance required.
\n - Must possess basic mechanical aptitude.
\n - Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
\n - Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision.
\n - Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
\n - May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.)
\n - Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 50 feet.
\n - Must be able to wear a respirator.
\n - Must be willing to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.
\n - Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.
