Job Description
Mill Basin Yeshiva Academy seeks a Reading Specialist, who will focus on Grade K-4 literacy instruction, specifically and curriculum development in the elementary school, generally. This position will report directly to the principal. The MBYA Reading Specialist will work as a colleague with classroom teachers to support literacy learning by teaching daily differentiated reading groups across kindergarten through fourth grade. The MBYA Reading Specialist will focus on individual and group professional development that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction. In order to fulfill these expectations.
Qualifications include specialized training and certification in the reading specialist field. Orton Gillingham or similar multi-sensory training is preferred.
