SUMMARY
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and taking action to ensure that the risk management activities of the organization are carried out as needed. This includes making sure investigations are completed accurately, completely and within timeframes required, all unemployment claims are responded to in a timely manner, workers' compensation claims are processed in accordance with policy, and lawsuits are managed in coordination with legal personnel and insurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Risk Management
Develops, implements, and updates the Agency Risk Management Plan
Ensures compliance with licensing, funding, and governing regulations
Prepares monthly and quarterly risk reports and trends analysis
Trains supervisory staff on risk management practices
Investigations
Serves as liaison with regulatory bodies (DDS, DCF, DHMAS, etc.)
Oversees and conducts internal abuse/neglect investigations
Maintains confidentiality and compliance with state regulations
Develops internal investigator pool and provides related training
Submits reports in required timeframes and updates policies as needed
Participates in safety and quality assurance committees and audits
Unemployment
Communicates with DOL; prepares and represents organization in claims
Tracks trends and recommends policy adjustments based on data
Worker's Compensation
Ensures regulatory compliance
Assists with legal documentation, communication, and litigation prep
Interfaces with attorneys and related personnel
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates motor vehicles safely and in accordance with State Law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work related duties.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Law, or related field with 2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities, or 4+ years related experience
Knowledge of DDS investigation requirements
Strong interviewing, communication, and report writing skills
SALARY
$50,000/yr. Rate increases to $51,515/yr after completion of six month introductory period.
