What You'll Do: Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into seasonal products Support and collaborate with the Senior Designer on the entire product design process for both mainline and outlet Seasonal research including trend and market research Research and source yarn from both Italian and Asian mills keeping in mind price points, specialist attributes and sustainability Develop seasonally appropriate stitches that align with both the Michael Kors aesthetic and seasonal concepts Sketching on photoshop and illustrator Complete design technical packages and trim BOMs in PLM system in order to develop precise and engaging proto and showroom samples Update tech packs daily in the PLM system Involved in proto & production fitting and be able to communicate design comments to cross functional teams and overseas offices Communicate and collaborate internally with merchandising, product development and technical design teams as well as our partners on the MMK team. Communicate regularly and clearly to our overseas agents and global cross-functional partners Assist in day to day projects including emails, meeting preparations and updating tech packs You'll Need to Have: Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Textile Design, specialization in fully fashioned sweaters preferred 1+ year of related experience which can include internships while studying Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop PLM experience Understanding of technical knitting capabilities, yarn construction, machine gauge and garment construction Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills Can-do mind set with positive attitude and a team-player Ability to work in office 3 days a week (sometimes 5 days - meeting dependent) We'd Love to See: Enthusiasm for the Brand and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Experience with flats and technical drawings and CADS Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage workflow in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively to meet all deadlines MK Perks: Generous Paid Time Off & Holiday Schedule Summer Fridays Internal mobility across Versace, Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors Cross-brand Discount Exclusive Employee Sales Fav 5 Cards (MK Discount for friends and family) 401k Match Paid Parental Leave Thrive Wellness Program Commuter Benefits Gym Discounts At Capri, we are all responsible for creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
